Week Seven

Ok so I know that this is not a drawing. This week I'm going to show off one of my block patterns. Several years ago on a Trip to San Fransisco to visit Jen we all went to the Exploratorium to "play". They have this great exhibit that is just tables full of these colored shapes that you use to build patterns, I sat down at a table and was in heaven, and an hour latter decided that I best go find Matt and Jen. For Valentines this year Matt bought me a small set of tiles. The idea is to expand our collection, so that I can play "with the kids" Something makes me think that I will be using them more though... It is so relaxing to just sit down and make all sorts of beautiful patterns.

Mr. Arthur pants.

week six

So since we call Arthur "Mr. Arthur Pants" Jessica came up with the Idea to get a tattoo of an "A" wearing a pair of pants! I loved the Idea so much I had to steal it. This will eventually be going somewhere on my boyd (not sure where yet) and the color/style of pants may change.

NOTE: I did not draw the plaid myself, that was photoshoped.

Artsy Fartsy

week 4

Okay so I actually did this one at the end of December, as a gift for my sister and her husband, but I like it so much I had to show it off, plus I may have missed a week so I'm slipping it in!

Week 5

I actually did this one as a new business card/logo design for my stylist who just opened her own salon. The best part of this arrangement is that I'm getting paid in trade! This means that I won't have to pay to get my hair done for months!

January Illustrations

So if you also read my actualT blog you know that one of my goals for 2010 is to create an illustration every week, for a total of 52 illustrations in 2010.

here is what I have come up with for my first month.

Week One

I was inspired by an image a friend of my posted on Face book. This one was a lot of fun. I love to draw in black and white.

Week two

This was done in pen and Gouache a type of water color paint. This was going to be a Christmas present for my sister (who's son is named Jack) but I did not have a chance to get it done for Christmas. I forgot how much I love to paint with gouache.

Week three

For the most part I am going to keep my illustration hand drawn, but I spent all my free time this week working on some illustrations for Actual Industries which I did in Adobe Illustrator.

Three is all I got so far. Stay tuned I will upload a new one each week all year!
